FirstJAZZ – Jason Charos Quintet

The Jason Charos Quintet will play repertoire from the straightahead jazz traditions that are not commonly performed. All of the tunes are either written or arranged by the members of the band. For the tunes that are not originals, the group pulls from the songbooks of Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers, Woody Shaw, Booker Little, Benny Golson, Walter Davis, Jr., and Joe Henderson among many others. The sole intent of the ensemble, though, is to provide the listener with an uplifting experience through music that is just swinging.
